About the exhibition
From 1989 to 1999, photographer Cleo Campert was the house photographer of the most famous club in Amsterdam: Club RoXY. In November 2021 an extensive publication will be released, containing more than 800 photos that Campert has shot in Club RoXY over many years. In anticipation to the release of this publication, The Gallery Club has curated an exhibition with a selection from The RoXY Archives.
The RoXY was a place for radical self-expression and under the inspiring leadership of DJ’s Eddy De Clercq and Joost van Bellen the RoXY grew into the most legendary club in the Netherlands. With her photography Cleo Campert has captured a beautiful time frame, in a period that house music established a serious foothold in Amsterdam.
